Über 6.000 Mitglieder. Über 20 Regionalgruppen. Über 40 Hochschulgruppen. Das ist der Verband Deutscher Wirtschaftsingenieure (VWI). Nur fünf Jahre nach Einführung des Studienganges an der Technischen Hochschule Charlottenburg, Berlin, wurde der Verband Deutscher Wirtschaftsingenieure 1932 gegründet. Er fördert das Studium zum/ zur Wirtschaftsingenieur*in durch zahlreiche Aktivitäten. Einerseits tragen die Hochschulgruppen selbst mit ihrem überdurchschnittlichen Engagement und vielen Events zu einem aktiven Verbandsleben bei. Andererseits setzt sich der Verband auf politischer Ebene für die Belange der Wirtschaftsingenieure*in ein. Fachlich wird die Arbeit des Verbandes durch Kompetenznetzwerke unterstützt und mündet in dem alle 2 Jahre stattfindenden Deutschen Wirtschaftsingenieurtag.

ESTIEM is the organisation for European Students of Industrial Engineering an Management (IEM), who combine technological understanding with management skills. Our goal ist to establish and foster relations between students across Europe and to support them in their personal and professional development. Founded in 1990, ESTIEM nowaday counts 79 member universities from 31 countries across Europe having a reach of 60.000 students. Yearly, more than 180 events focusing on academic development, skills development, competitions and intercultural exchanges ar being organised across whole Europe. Next to organising events, ESTIEM also publishes a bi-annual magazine showing the trend in IEM and reporting on developments of the network.
